Long Board PCB Manufacturing Capabilities, Long board PCBs, also known as oversized PCBs or large-format PCBs, require more than simply extending the dimensions of a standard circuit board. As board length increases, drilling accuracy, image registration, copper plating consistency, solder mask alignment, dimensional stability and mechanical handling all become more difficult to control.

SQPCB regularly manufactures single-sided and double-sided long PCBs up to 1,500 mm, as well as four-layer PCBs up to 1,200 mm. For special projects approaching 2,000 mm in length, feasibility will be evaluated according to the PCB construction, width, thickness, copper weight, hole requirements and surface finish.

Key Challenges in Long PCB Production

Manufacturing an extra-long PCB requires special attention throughout the production process:

• Equipment must accommodate the full board length.
• Imaging and registration must remain consistent from one end of the PCB to the other.
• Copper plating and surface finishing must maintain uniformity across the entire board.
• Special handling is required to prevent bending, impact and deformation.
• Electrical testing, profiling and packaging may require customized solutions.
• Transportation risks must be considered before production and shipment.

Our engineering team reviews these factors before quotation and production. If dividing the design into several smaller PCBs would provide a more economical and reliable solution, we will recommend it first. When the PCB must remain as one complete long board, we will evaluate and coordinate the required manufacturing processes accordingly.

Controlled Production and Quality Responsibility

Most manufacturing processes, engineering review, production coordination, quality control and final inspection remain under SQPCB’s management.

For exceptionally long PCBs, certain size-restricted processes—such as drilling or profiling—may be completed by qualified large-format manufacturing partners. SQPCB remains responsible for process coordination, inspection requirements and the quality of the finished PCB.
